Practice Information
Since 2017, I have been working in an oncology setting within the health care system. I understand that navigating illness can be incredibly lonely. Feelings of grief and depression are common reactions to health-related changes. Everything from daily routines to how we feel about ourselves can change. Anxiety and fearful thoughts about the future can arise, along with heightened stress. The activities that once brought joy might not be available to you due to symptoms. You may find yourself in need of new ways to manage distress, think about things, and recharge in the midst of it all.
I also have experience supporting caregivers, those caring for their loved ones who have been diagnosed with cancer, chronic illness or pain, as well as those caring for children who have experienced complex trauma early in life. It is common for caregivers to have a significant emotional reaction resulting from illness and/or trauma experienced by their loved one. Seeking support as a caregiver enables you find sustainable ways of providing care to those who are depending on you.
I offer sessions virtually or over the phone so that you can access quality counselling support from wherever you are. Please email me directly to schedule an appointment or to request a complementary 15 minute consultation to ask any questions you may have.

I thought I would share a few themes that I have noticed over the years (in no particular order): Navigating the medical system can be confusing and/or stressful – With a diagnosis of breast cancer, patients can find themselves with multiple doctors and medical professionals involved in their care. It is typical to have a surgeon/specialist, a medical oncologist (a doctor who prescribes chemotherapy if needed and monitors…
