Viviane Houle is a Registered Social Worker (#10977) with the British Columbia College of Social Workers, an EMDR and Integrative Voicework Therapist, and a Certified NeurOptimal® Neurofeedback Trainer. She obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology (Honors) degree from the University of Alberta and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of British Columbia. Viviane is also a professional singer and has performed in opera, jazz and the improvised music scenes both in Canada and abroad.
For over 20 years I have worked to help people to manage and transform anxiety, depression, trauma, loss and grief, change and transitions, relationships and divorce, self-esteem issues, sleep problems, and general stress. I believe that each person possesses inherent basic health, goodness and capacities for self-healing. I work with individuals to help them access their own resources in order to develop awareness, resilience, confidence and creativity in dealing with life circumstances, past, present and future and to grow through the challenges and changes in their lives.
I also enjoy working with clients who are looking to optimize their performance either on stage (singers, actors, performance artists) or in other work environments. Integrative Voicework, Neurofeedback, and EMDR are some of the approaches I use to facilitate this process for clients.
My approach is holistic (addressing the physical, emotional, cognitive and spiritual needs of the clients) and integrative (drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches depending on the needs of the client including client-centered, humanistic, and body-centered psychotherapy, EMDR, integrative voicework, meditation and mindfulness approaches, and neurofeedback).
I offer both online and in person counselling sessions. EMDR can be done online or in person. Neurofeedback has to done in person or with a home rental.
