Practice Information
We all have the potential to make meaningful changes to build a life worth living well.
I am a Registered Psychologist in BC (#2869) and Alberta (#5142). I have specialized training to work with first responders (police officers, paramedics, RCMP, firefighters, correctional officers, veterans) and their families struggling with trauma/PTSD, work-related stressors, interpersonal and anxiety/depression issues. I have over a decade of experience working with youth and adults struggling with trauma, mood disorders, stress, and substance use. I greatly enjoy working with individuals from all walks of life. My therapeutic style is sincere and non-judgemental. I bring compassion to each session as I work collaboratively with my clients to explore difficult issues.
I have specialized training in helping adults with various concerns such as trauma/PTSD, anxiety (general, social, panic), chronic worrying, depression, stress associated with work, substance use disorders (alcohol, cannabis, drugs, gambling), life transitions, interpersonal difficulties, self-esteem and body image, among other areas as well. I conduct psychodiagnostic assessments including ADHD assessment. I can complete Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC) medical questionnaires.
The foundation of my therapeutic approach is client-centered, evidence-based, and empathetic. I also incorporate elements of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) variants (e.g., Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy) and other types of therapy such as Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness/relaxation, and neurobiology science. Utilizing these approaches tailored to your individual needs can help you towards learning new skills and building on inherent strengths to get you toward a place you desire.
Therapy is a brave move forward. I welcome you to get in touch for a free 15-minute phone consultation. I'm happy to answer any questions you may have!
Coverage is often provided through many extended health care plans such as Pacific Blue Cross. Coverage provided through these plans varies, and you are encouraged to check with your plan’s “psychological services” to determine the amount of coverage. I direct bill to Medavie Blue Cross, Veteran Affairs Canada (VAC), Pacific Blue Cross, and Greenshield. I accept e-transfer. Additionally, I accept clients through the Crime Victim Assistance Program (CVAP).
