Practice Information

Who am I?

I’m a psychotherapist in private practice in West Vancouver. I conduct in-person and Zoom sessions Mon-Fri. I work with individuals, couples, and families that include some of the following practice areas: relationship counselling; healing the emotional impact of narcissistic harm; depression, grief and bereavement; separation and divorce; and midlife issues. I am committed to providing the highest level of service to all my clients, regardless of race, gender, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, politics, ethnicity, or nationality.

What is my Approach?

My approach to therapy is varied because there's no single approach, or modality, that fits every person that I work with. Having said that, I generally draw upon psychodynamic, some cognitive-behavioral, and solution-focused approaches when working with clients.

Why me?

Because I'm good at what I do! Yes, it's okay to recognize our strengths, and that's exactly what I support my clients to do. I offer direct feedback and am very engaged in sessions, and not just a silent listener! I also believe, based on over 20 years of working with clients, that the single most important determinant of successful therapy is the development of an effective therapeutic relationship with my clients. Feeling emotionally safe, respected, encouraged, and supported are, for me, the foundational elements necessary to build this effective relationship. Consequently, I remain committed to my role as a trust-worthy and non-judgmental collaborator in my attempt to help clients find effective resolutions to the challenges they face in their lives.

Additional Support:

When I am not working with clients, I lead women’s discussion groups, speak at events throughout the city, write books, and facilitate workshops. I strongly believe our wisest guide lives within us. I would love to provide you with the skills and insights needed to help you become unstuck wherever you might be in your life. Give me a call for a free 15-minute phone consultation.
