Practice Information

Hello, my name is Sherry. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) and a Registered Social Worker (RSW & MSW).

Are you struggling with mental health and/or addiction? Have you experienced trauma in your life? Are you having relationship issues? Is stress overwhelming you? Have you had an overwhelming loss? If you answer yes to any of these and want some support to create change, then I can help.

I am passionate about helping others create change in their lives. I am caring, empathetic and non-judgmental. Humor comes natural for me and I use it, when appropriate. I take a client centered approach and will start with where you are at. I will work collaboratively with you to identify your goals for counselling and support you in reaching those goals. I will enroll you in possibilities by planting seeds and watching them grow. I believe that when one is grounded and present, magic can happen. We can all change, under the right conditions, if we are willing to engage and trust in the work.  Small steps to change can lead up to big results. A relationship of trust and safety is a foundation for change.

Mental health effects many people in our society. We all experience feelings of depression and anxiety at times. However, when these feelings negatively impact our lives, isolation, hopelessness and despair can set in. We all need help at certain times. Reaching out and asking for help is a sign of strength. Your courage and commitment can lead to a sense of overall improved mental health and well-being.

Addiction touches people from all walks of life.  Addiction is very isolating and can leave you feeling a sense of hopelessness and despair. The good news is, change is possible. I will work with you and support you in your journey. We can work together to achieve your goals  whether harm reduction or abstinence.

Trauma comes in many forms and can impact us in many different ways. Has trauma disrupted your life? Do you feel unsafe? Are you having difficulty sleeping at night? Are you unable to develop and maintain lasting relationships? Trauma memories are held in our body and can impact our ability live a happy and meaningful life. Trauma is not your fault. It is time for you start living the life that you desire and so deserve. Therapy can help you learn how to live in the present versus the past.

Stress impacts us all at different times in our lives. Is stress impacting your ability to get through your day? Do you feel overwhelmed? Stress can take a toll on you and over time can be debilitating. Maybe you lost a job or perhaps a loved one, or maybe it’s exam time in college. I will offer you the tools and techniques to manage your stress, so that you can achieve a more calm and relaxed life.
