Practice Information
I have offered support to individuals, couples, and families for over thirty years as a Psychotherapist and family and couples counsellor in private practice. My trauma-informed approach is integrated, drawing upon Gestalt Therapy, Satir Family Systems, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Mindfulness. I am licensed as a Registered Clinical Counsellor for clients in British Columbia and as a Registered Psychotherapist for clients in Ontario. I am available for either virtual (online for clients in both Ontario and B.C.) or in-person (in Vancouver) appointments.
I am able to offer a range of therapeutic approaches to cater to the diverse needs of my clients, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), emotionally-focused therapy, and couples' (non-violent communication) skill development. I support clients in addressing issues such as anger, anxiety, communication, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, marriage and intimacy, parenting, stress, substance-use dependency, trauma, workplace conflict, work-life balance, and youth concerns. By focusing on creating a supportive and nurturing environment to explore their challenges and work towards positive change, I help my clients gain tools to better manage their emotions, restore a balanced, healthy outlook, and improve their relationships.
I accord respect to all persons, regardless of age, race, ethnicity, language preference and proficiency, gender identity, sexual orientation, neuro-diversity, ability, political affiliation, or religious or spiritual beliefs, as I continue to learn and practice inclusion, equity, and cultural safety.
I completed my Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology at University of British Columbia in 1997, in addition to Certificate Programs through the Gestalt Institute of Vancouver (1994) and the Satir Institute of the Pacific Northwest (1996).
As an Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS), I also offer Clinical Supervision to Members, Qualifying Members, and Student Members of the CRPO, BCACC, and OAMHP. My areas of specialization include art and play therapy, anger, anxiety, depression, family and relationship counselling, grief and loss, substance use dependency, and recovery from trauma.
I acknowledge that I live and work on the stolen, ancestral territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and səlilwətaɬ (Tsleil-Waututh) peoples and I commit to the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada Calls to Action.
