Practice Information
Hello! I am a Registered Psychologist (PhD in Clinical Psychology). I am the author of multiple journal articles and book chapters, an invited speaker in the areas of attachment, family transitions, and trauma, and the recipient of the 2010 BC Government Social Policy Award for my research contributions in the area of family transitions.
Over the years, I have had the pleasure and privilege of assessing and providing therapy for individuals and couples across multiple settings. I have welcomed clients from all walks of life, and have a true appreciation for each client's uniqueness.
I am passionate about working with adults experiencing a wide range of emotional difficulties. My areas of practice with individuals include anxiety, depression, identity, life transitions, grief, loss, and personal growth.
A strong focus of mine is relationships. This includes your relationship with yourself, and your relationship with those around you. I offer marriage counselling, couples/relationship therapy, as well as individual therapy for intimacy issues, anxious/avoidant attachment, separation support. I trained extensively in Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) , at the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT), and was trained by its founder and co-originator of EFT, Dr. Sue Johnson. EFT is a short-term, structured approach, which boasts the highest success rate of any evidence-based model. Research shows that 90% (!) of couples completing this therapy report significant improvement.
I will be honoured to create a safe space for your experience to unfold and to help you access your strengths as you cultivate your path to well-being.
I have helped numerous clients meet (and sometimes exceed) their emotional goals and needs. I look forward to meeting you and to assisting you in finding your path to a happier, more harmonious life!
