Practice Information
I am a Registered Psychologist with a combined 25+ years of education and experience in psychotherapy. I have extensive experience helping with diverse concerns including anxiety, depression, grief/loss, and life transitions. My practice focuses mainly on two areas: helping people overcome trauma/PTSD in individual therapy and improving relationships through couples therapy. I have a special interest in working with military veterans, first responders, public safety personnel, and health care professionals. I have a doctorate (Ph.D.) in Counselling Psychology and master’s degrees from Harvard University (Ed.M.) and UBC (M.A.).
I use an integrative, strength-based, relational, and non-judgemental approach in therapy. I draw on a number of psychological theories including cognitive behavioral therapy, emotion-focused therapy, family systems, and trauma-informed approaches. I integrate research-based interventions and tailor therapy to meet your unique needs.
I strive to create a strong working relationship by: 1) creating a welcoming environment where you feel comfortable exploring your concerns; 2) working together to set and achieve personal goals; and 3) being friendly, compassionate, and having a good sense of humour.
I look forward to connecting with you!
