Practice Information

Hi, I'm Nicole (she/they).

If you're in a space where you're not feeling like yourself, you're not alone. Maybe you've been experiencing worry, or a sense of 'what's the point?' about your life. Maybe you've felt alone, or your mind is full of 'shoulds'...ways you should be better, different, happier or more successful.  Our lives can be so messy. The stress we experience can make us feel like we are not ourselves, and even at times that we have lost interest in pursuing things we usually love. Reaching out for support is challenging, and can also be empowering, I am glad you are considering it.

You might wonder what therapy can offer you, and that is a fair question. I used to ask the same thing and I remember my first therapy session as a client, I was so nervous I got in a car accident on my way to the appointment. Being vulnerable and sharing a piece of yourself can be intimidating and it's easy to wonder if it will even make a difference.  Thankfully, we now know from neuroscience that our brains are always capable of change, so there is hope!

I am committed to providing as safe a space as is possible to those who would choose to trust me with their story. I believe you have resources and answers within yourself, and I am honoured to support you as you discover and grow in your own strength. I use an intersectional, systemic approach in my work, leaning on Feminist Theory and Narrative techniques, as well as my AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) training. My work is person-centered, trauma-informed, rooted in empathy, and takes a non-judgmental stance. I take a collaborative approach, meaning you get to play an active role in deciding how our time together is spent. Ultimately, I am committed to your healing and will use all of the tools at my disposal to support you on your journey.

At this time, I am offering sessions online using an encrypted video platform called Jane and am able to offer support to those living in British Columbia. I am also offering walk and talk sessions (weather dependent) for those who live locally in the Vancouver area.

If therapy is something you are curious about, please reach out or visit my website for more information! I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation. We can spend a bit of time getting to know each other and discuss what you’re looking for in therapy. I look forward to getting to know you and hearing your story!

I acknowledge that I live and work on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Sel̓íl̓witulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations. I am grateful to the Indigenous peoples who live on and care for these lands I call home.

All About AEDP Therapy: Transforming Suffering into Flourishing

The most recent AEDP (Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy) textbook includes this phrase in its title: transforming suffering into flourishing. AEDP is a therapeutic modality that not only wants to alleviate the negative effects of psychological distress, but believes that as humans, we need opportunities to thrive in our lives, existing as our full, expansive, selves. We live in a world where much of mental health has become about managing symptoms or learning tools and tips to reduce the experience of anxiety or depression. For those of us who work as AEDP therapists, our goals…
