Practice Information
I provide counselling for older adolescents (14+) and adults of all ages experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss, chronic pain and illness, relationship difficulties, life transitions, retirement, workplace concerns, identity questions, and longstanding emotional or relational patterns.
People begin counselling for many different reasons. Some are struggling with anxiety, grief, trauma, chronic pain, difficult relationships, or significant life transitions. Others find themselves wondering why the same patterns continue to repeat despite their best efforts to move forward, or simply sensing that life could feel different, even if they're not quite sure why.
I believe meaningful change often begins when we slow down enough to explore our experiences and better understand ourselves. Many of the ways we learn to cope make sense in the context of our lives and may have helped us through difficult times. Together, we take time to make sense of those patterns with compassion, recognizing how they may once have protected us while exploring whether they are still serving us today.
My approach is humanistic, person-centred, trauma-informed, and integrative. My work is primarily informed by Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed therapy, somatic therapy, narrative therapy, and attachment-informed perspectives, while also drawing on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and cognitive and behavioural strategies, including CBT and DBT-informed skills, when these approaches best support your individual needs and goals.
Alongside practical strategies when they are helpful, I also value creating space to reflect more deeply on your experiences. Together, we may explore the impact of past experiences, relationships, the nervous system, values, and ways of coping, helping you develop a greater understanding of yourself and discover new possibilities for moving forward.
My aim is to offer a thoughtful, compassionate, and collaborative therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported as you move toward a life that feels more connected, authentic, and meaningful.
