Practice Information
Starting counselling can feel like finally opening that storage space you have been avoiding. It’s full of things you don’t really want to deal with but know you have to. It’s messy, and you might wonder why some of it is even there. That is completely normal.
Together we’ll sort through the clutter and make space for clarity and calm. Maybe you’re stuck in loops of overthinking, always “on,” or feeling shut down and disconnected. You’re holding it together for everyone else, but inside, it feels like you’re struggling. Maybe something hard happened, or maybe life has just felt overwhelming for a long time. If any of that sounds familiar, you’re in the right place.
I work with adults who feel weighed down by stress, caught in repetitive or unwanted thoughts, or held back by old memories and habits that keep showing up. Sometimes it is trauma. Sometimes it is the endless pressure of life. Often, it is a mix of both.
About Me
I’m Melanie, a Registered Clinical Counsellor based in South Surrey, BC. My counselling approach is collaborative and respectful of your pace. We’ll look at what’s getting in the way, build some tools, and work toward a steadier, more connected version of you.
If you’re craving a deeper understanding and getting down to the root of your concerns, let’s work together to make sense of it all. Your past does not have to define your future.
My Approach to Therapy
Counselling with me is down-to-earth and focused on what matters to you most. I draw from evidence-based approaches like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) to gain a sense of control over your thoughts, actions and emotions. I draw on attachment theory and EMDR to help reduce the impact of difficult experiences and relationships.
I’m here to help you find your footing in a way that feels authentic and sustainable.
