Practice Information
I help people who are having difficulties in their relationships with their children, family, romantic partners, and co-workers. I work with individuals, couples, and some or all family members. I help people to improve their communication, manage their feelings more effectively, and change their behaviour. I have a particular interest in men's issues, and how men's issues affect their relationships (e.g., father and son) and well-being.
I primarily use a cognitive-behavioural approach in assisting people to better manage strong and difficult emotions and experiences and to provide people with specific skills to apply in their day-to-day lives and their relationships. I apply family systems approaches in helping couples and families improve their communication, interactions and functioning. I also provide individually tailored treatment for anxiety, depression, anger management, coping with stress, parenting challenges, relationship and co-worker conflict, and aggression. My approach to working with individuals, couples and families in balanced and sensitive to cultural issues.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia. I have 20 years of experience in providing a variety of psychological treatments.
