Practice Information

My career in the realm of psychotherapy started with a few goals which are now the roots of my practice: I want clients to feel safe getting vulnerable. I want you to have freedom navigating complex & highly emotional situations, in a non- judgmental space. I want to help you find strength, humour and resiliency, even in the most uncertain of times. In the very least, we'll have a good chat and maybe you leave with a different perspective. I have developed a skill set for tackling tough issues around stress, trauma and attachment, relationships, anger, anxiety, depression and substance use.  I run my own clinical practice and am a trained supervisor for graduate students.

I work predominantly with relational issues: Couples,  family estrangement, men's communication and interpersonal concerns, major life transitions, workplace conflict and all the ways you may be feeling disconnected from yourself, your relationships or your social world.  I take a non-pathologizing approach, which means that I believe it is our social eco-system that often keeps us from the life we want to live. Helping uncover what isn't working in your day-to-day, often takes away the stress of feeling " I am the problem"  to a more compassionate, less shame- based lens of " My system isn't working".

Common issues I work with include: Navigating new relationships, learning about attachment style and how historical events helped shape your reactions/beliefs, infidelity, high conflict relationships, co-parenting, tough decisions around leaving a partnership, or navigating grief in separation or divorce. I focus on building back identity, working on self-confidence, exploring your sexuality, navigating alternative relationship styles & gaining the tools to better advocate your needs.    It is within the safety of my counseling space that I can help figure out why you may be feeling lonely, lost or misunderstood.   I am direct, warm and have been told I take a non-stuffy approach to navigating complex issues.  I care immensely for the clients I serve and believe that a little work can go a long way.

If this resonates with you, please reach out. Help isn't too far away.
