Hi! I'm Kelli, a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) offering walk-and-talk therapy in North Vancouver and virtual counselling across British Columbia.
Most of my sessions take place in the North Shore's beautiful forests, where movement, fresh air, and connection with nature become part of the therapeutic process. Many clients find that walking side-by-side makes conversations feel more natural and less intimidating than they would if we were face-to-face in an office. They also appreciate how they get exercise in... I sometimes call it a "self-care power hour!"
Here are some of the types of folks I often support:
- People who would simply rather do counselling walking on the trails than sitting in an office!
- People who struggle to live in their bodies. Whether you wrestle with how your body looks, your relationship with food, or you live with chronic pain or illness, you'll know that the emotional impact of living in a body that feels complicated, unpredictable, or unsafe can be enormous. I've been living in a complex body my whole life, so I really "get it."
- People who identify as neurodivergent -- specifically those diagnosed with giftedness and/or ADHD. I've been wrangling a high-powered brain my whole life, so again, I really "get it." (And maybe now you now understand why I choose to walk for a living?!)
- Last but certainly not least -- people who have ever been told they're "too" anything. Whether it's "too sensitive" or "too anxious" or "too picky" or "too much" or or or... I'm a fierce believer that each one of us is exactly the right amount for who we're meant to be, but often, society has told us otherwise. One of my greatest privileges as a counsellor is helping people chip away at the belief that there's something fundamentally wrong with them because of the intensity they bring to the world. Your intensity is SO welcome here.
My therapeutic approach spans across these types of folks I support, because it's grounded in one simple belief: that mindfulness is at the core of all healing. I'm not talking about seated meditation, because that's not the right tool for everyone. I'm talking about working together to bring awareness to what's happening in your mind and body. Getting curious about what's here -- emotions, stories, sensations -- and allowing them to exist exactly as they are. Getting curious about where they might come from, why they're showing up now, and if they feel good to you. If they don't, getting curious about ways we might shift the experience to something that could feel better. And making sure we have some laughs and chuckles along the way!
I bring both my professional training and my lived experience to this work. While I won't tell you what your path "should" look like - because that's entirely up to you - I'll walk beside you as we explore what healing, growth, and meaning look like when they're placed squarely in your hands.
I'd love to meet you!
