Practice Information
Welcome!
I'm Kyla Coopman, MCP, CCC (she/her), an individual and couples counsellor who welcomes clients of all identities. I specialize in areas such as:
- Relationship & Attachment Counselling
(infidelity, communication issues, relational trauma, intimacy concerns) - Crisis & Betrayal Trauma
(estrangement, ambiguous loss, sudden emotional upheaval, betrayal) - Personality Dynamics & Emotional Dysregulation
(BPD traits, narcissistic traits, depression, emotional overwhelm, trauma responses)
If you feel stuck in a painful or repeating cycle, I can help you map it, understand it, and shift it so you can move forward with confidence and intention. I can help you sort out the messiness before (or after!) things get too chaotic, and offer honest, gentle direction so you can feel grounded and secure. I aim to be a stable support for you to lean on, and a therapist that you can trust to have you best interests at heart!
It is my belief that “our relationships – with ourselves, with others, and with the broader contexts we inhabit - profoundly shape how we experience life. “
This relational lens guides my practice, helping clients uncover behavioural patterns, heal emotional injuries, and learn new tools to maintain and build secure, meaningful connections with themselves and others.
With a Master of Counselling Psychology (Adler University) and a BA in Psychology (SFU), I have a strong academic foundation. I have also led an extensive career in both sculpting and music. My creative background gives an intuitive dimension to my therapeutic style, allowing me to meet clients with depth, imagination, and emotional insight.

If you feel stuck in a painful or repeating cycle, I can help you map it, understand it, and begin to shift it so you can move forward with clarity and intention. I can help you sort out the messiness before (or after) things get too chaotic, and offer honest, gentle direction. I believe that we all need someone we can trust, who has our best interests at heart, and I aim to be that for you as your counsellor :)
Do you find it hard to open up to people? Maybe the idea of therapy is a little anxiety-inducing. I like to maintain a relatable, humorous and open-minded feel in our sessions, all while having the ability to sit with you in your darkest moments — without judgment, without rushing, and with the highest level of respect to you. Blending clinical expertise, creative insight, and lived experience, I can:
- Hold space for difficult emotions with strength and dignity
- Offer clear, grounded insights without pressure
- Support deep healing from relational wounds and betrayal
- Help clients understand themselves and their relationships in new ways
- Balance professionalism with authenticity and warmth
I understand that being truly seen can release shame, soften self‑judgment, and open the door to meaningful change. I stand beside my clients with steadiness and honesty, offering someone to rely on, draw from, and work with — no matter how complex the issue.
