Practice Information
Do you find yourself wishing that the world would just slow down for a few moments, let you catch your breath and get your feet back underneath you? Are you wondering how things got so overwhelming and out of control? In times of transition, whether by choice or demand, we often find ourselves needing new skills to cope with our changing circumstances. Our relationships are deeply impacted by our ability to communicate our needs, desires, and boundaries, and yet we are taught so few of these skills.
Relationship and communication skills are essential tools for navigating the complexities of life, and are a particular focus of my practice. Existential angst, and the accompanying anxiety or depression, can be viewed as a message from your authentic self. I can support you to get clear about what really matters to you, and to move courageously forward.
Often our biggest misconception is that we are alone in our difficulties. Reaching out is difficult at the best of times, more so when we are suffering. Perhaps we believe that we are the problem, broken or unlovable, and so we flounder along feeling isolated. We aren't meant to figure out life alone, reach out for some support to help you through.
I use an eclectic mix of therapeutic frameworks, tailored specifically to your needs and goals, just as individual as you are. I often draw on Internal Family Systems and Satir Therapy, both of which address the relationships and communities that we live in, and that live within us. Compassionate self-acceptance is a powerful tool for creative change.
