Practice Information
Relationship counselling for young professionals (20s to 40s) is the primary focus of my practice. I enjoy working with and supporting clients in navigating relationships through an attachment-based lens. I am passionate about supporting clients to navigate relationships, develop healthy, secure, and meaningful connections.
What kind of clients do I typically see?
- Someone in their 30s who wants to date and find a romantic partner but is afraid to start;
- A client in a long-term relationship, unable to decide whether to stay or to leave;
- Someone who has come out of a few unhealthy relationships in search of a better one, but finds herself repeating similar patterns with multiple partners.
I have been supporting clients to explore and identify unhelpful dynamics, understand attachment styles, develop greater self-awareness, set healthy boundaries, manage conflict, increase intimacy and improve communication skills. Relationship counselling offers guidance in building healthy and fulfilling relationships. In addition, I am passionate about providing services to young professionals in their 20s to 40s. Between the 20s and 40s is a time of growth and transition. You may be in the process of finding your place in the world, figuring out who you are, finding your path and wanting clarity on what is important to you.
My style as a therapist is genuine, respectful and non-judgmental, and I am committed to providing a safe and trusting space for our work. I try to understand you and work with you from where you are. I believe in supporting and empowering the inner strengths and wisdom that each of us has within ourselves that will help us get through difficult times. Through our work, we will explore your relationships with yourself as well as with others. You can develop a better understanding, awareness, gain insights about your experience and your relationships. You may also find more compassion and acceptance toward yourself. I will support you by being a companion in your journey of self-growth.
I was born and raised in Taiwan, lived in San Francisco and San Diego, CA, US, and currently reside on the land of the unceded traditional territory of the Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh Nations which is also known as Vancouver, BC. I have been providing psychotherapy and counselling services for more than 20 years in various settings, including non-profit community agencies, out-patient mental health clinics, university counselling centre, brief solution-focused therapy for youth (12–24 years), and private practice. My interest in personal growth and counselling started as I began to work through my own difficulties and psychological sufferings at an early age. I hope to continue and never stop growing as a person. Outside the counselling office, I enjoy walks, yoga, cooking, shows and movies, learning about things, spending time with family, friends and the cat.
