Practice Information

About me

I am a South Asian female counsellor with over eight years of experience supporting individuals, couples, and families through life’s challenges. Originally from India, I have a deep understanding of the complexities of cultural identity, resilience, and how personal experiences shape mental health. I am fluent in Hindi and English, with a basic understanding of Punjabi. I specialize in working with clients experiencing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, relationship and family challenges, trauma, self-esteem concerns, and career transitions.

My Approach

I view counselling as a collaborative process, where clients are the experts in their own lives, and my role is to provide a steady and reflective space that fosters self-exploration and meaningful change. My counselling style is grounding and supportive, offering a space where clients feel validated, heard, and empowered. I focus on helping clients explore their emotional worlds while developing deep insight into how their past, present, and future experiences shape their perspectives. My approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Couples Therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy to ensure interventions are tailored to each client's unique journey.

Experience

I have experience working with youth, adults and families. I have worked in different countries and settings, such as schools, universities and private practice. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
I hold a Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) degree from Sophia College, Mumbai, India and a Master of Science in Counselling from Johns Hopkins University, USA. I have also completed various trainings in the following areas:

  •  Cognitive Behavioral Therapy
  • Internal Family Systems
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy
  • Gottman Couples Therapy - Level 1 and Level 2
  • Adult ADHD

Away from Work

Outside the therapy room, I find joy in wandering through nature, testing new recipes in the kitchen, and spending time with people I love. I also take great satisfaction in organizing and cleaning — a quiet ritual that brings me peace and clarity.
