Practice Information
Hi there! My name is Dana and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor. I hold a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from Adler University. I have experience working in private practice and government agency settings, supporting youth and adults with anxiety, depression, stress and childhood trauma. I work with neurodiverse folks who may be highly sensitive people (HSP), have ADHD, ASD, and other neurodiversities.
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) with my clients to help clients build a toolbox of skills to cope with distressing symptoms. I also use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Adlerian Therapy in my work with clients to explore a person’s childhood, family, beliefs and cultural identity. I incorporate expressive arts, mindfulness-based and attachment-based therapy into my trauma-informed approach.
I am passionate about working with youth and young adults who struggle with emotional sensitivity and anxiety. I help people learn more about themselves to feel secure in intimate, family and social relationships. We will work closely together to find tools and strategies that support self-soothing and self-regulation, allowing us to gather insight about unmet needs and your current coping strategies.
If you are a person who feels deeply and absorbs stress easily, you may think your needs are ‘too much’ and feel that the world is too overwhelming at times. If this sounds like you, we will work together to create a safe space for you to express yourself, and you will be met with a warm and gentle energy. I move at a pace that feels right for you and understand the vulnerability in addressing your trauma, beliefs, and anxieties.
