Practice Information
Life is hard. Everyone at some point in their lives has an issue that troubles them too much. Talk therapy works!
I help people who feel stuck. I help people who are lonely; people who are angry and overwhelmed; people who are afraid of change, afraid of making the wrong decision and afraid that they might not be good enough.
I help couples communicate clearly. I help the silent partner find their voice. I help the talkative partner find the patience to listen attentively. I help partners, siblings, friends and co-workers address conflict and re-connect. I help people understand and manage their anger, address their depression, grieve their losses and face their anxiety so that they can move toward reaching their full potential.
I help people navigate life transitions such as: divorce, death, infertility, relocation, retirement, career change or job loss. No matter what the problem, we must move toward acceptance as we can only grow from a place of stability. I help people find that stability so that they can step into their confidence, set desired goals and begin taking the necessary action steps to live happier lives.
Simply put, I help people manage their lives more effectively.
And, I can help you.
I work with functioning clients from diverse backgrounds who, for one reason or another, find themselves stuck in life or confused by their ingrained beliefs.
I have a business background — I worked in marketing for 8 years prior to pursuing a graduate degree in Counselling Psychology. I understand the complexities that clients face with work-life issues. I am skilled at dealing with issues involving human behaviour in the workplace.
Many of my clients are professionals, executives, managers, entrepreneurs and artists, or they are the adult children of professionals and / or of family-owned businesses. If not addressed fully, issues including perfectionism, not measuring up and unrealistic expectations can be left unresolved for generations.
I am a solution-focused therapist (i.e. results oriented). I am client-centered, skilled in numerous approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I am a life coach, and trained in dealing with anger and anxiety issues as well as life and career transitions.
I have a graduate degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia (1992). I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#941), a Certified Employee Assistance Professional, and a Family Enterprise Advisor.
My warm professional demeanor along with my sense of humour compliment my skill set and 30+ years of professional experience, which put my clients at ease so that they can tap into the heart of their issue. With new insight, my clients often leave the first session with hope, optimism and action steps to begin their change for the better.
Please Note: I am semi-retired. I work virtually mostly using the secure doxy.me platform. I see in-person clients on Fridays.
