Practice Information

It is my pleasure to assist clients in connecting with their innate capacity to heal, supporting them to know their inner self and to trust themselves. I have extensive experience assisting a diverse range of clients to achieve their goals, develop new skills, regain emotional balance, and increase their sense of well-being. Clients can expect to feel deeply understood and validated while being gently invited to identify distressing thoughts, feelings, and behaviour patterns that interfere with their ability to live their best life. My goal is for every client to walk away feeling more hopeful, able to cope, and have a sense of inner peace.

I have over 20 years of experience in mental health and wellness and I continue to feel excited about supporting clients to achieve their goals. The theoretical framework from which I work is client-centered, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and attachment and mindfulness based. I have training in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). I have also completed extensive training to achieve the ADHD - Certified Clinical Service Provider (CCSP) and the Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) designations to enhance the services I provide in these areas.

I provide individual counselling virtually (by phone or secure video) and in-person (Cumberland) for clients ages 18 and up. I am available for appointments Tuesday to Friday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm.

If you would like more information, please visit my website, email me, or book a free 15-min consultation by using the booking link below.

I'm Christina (she/her), and I'm dedicated to helping clients establish and restore a healthy relationship with themselves, enabling them to form healthy connections with others.

My greatest honour lies in assisting individuals in reconnecting with their inner selves, trusting their intuition, and fostering personal growth. I provide support to a diverse range of clients by helping them develop new skills, regain emotional balance, and enhance their overall well-being. Throughout our journey together, clients can expect to feel deeply understood, validated, and gently guided in identifying distressing thoughts, emotions, and behavior patterns that may hinder their ability to live their best lives. My ultimate goal is for every client to leave with a greater sense of hope, improved coping mechanisms, healing, and inner peace.

With over 20 years of experience in mental health, I remain enthusiastic about helping clients achieve their goals. I draw upon my clinical training, my experience working with diverse individuals with various strengths and challenges, as well as my own personal growth and healing from life's obstacles.

As a lifelong learner, I continually engage in reading, research, trainings, and resources to enhance my knowledge and therapy skills. I approach my work with clients as client-centered and collaborative. I firmly believe that you possess numerous strengths that you bring to therapy, along with your own aspirations for personal growth. Together, we will embark on the therapeutic journey to facilitate the changes you desire.

I genuinely believe in the potential for improvement in your life and relationships—with yourself and others. It will require time, commitment, and effort, but it is ABSOLUTELY possible, and I'm here to support you every step of the way.

What I’ve learned through education, providing therapy, and walking along my own journey of self-discovery, healing, and growth is that we’re all imperfect and fallible humans. We all have experienced pain and it is our nervous system’s response to our experiences and our interpretation and stories we tell ourselves about that experience that drives our perceptions of the world around us. Our nervous systems are highly intelligent and are doing exactly what they are designed to do in every situation, to make sense of the world around us, prepare us and protect us (through fight, flight, freeze, fawn responses). However, when our nervous system is responding as if the world is an unsafe place while we are not in danger it is highly likely that we are operating from past pain, our unconscious programming, or upsetting early childhood experiences.

When we are able to live fully in the present moment, we can cultivate an awareness of the automatic negative thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that are running in the background, unconsciously from the past, instead of the present. We must make the unconscious programs and patterns conscious in our present awareness in order to shift them to a more healthy and balanced way of being. From this place of conscious, present awareness we have a choice whether we will repeat the old patterns or do something slightly different to move forward and toward the person we want to be and to feel the way we want to feel.

We have the ability to take control of our lives, to love ourselves regardless of our flaws, mistakes, and shortcomings and find compassion for ourselves and others. It is only through self-love, self-examination, self-acceptance, self-compassion, human connection, and forgiveness for ourselves and others, that we are able to heal and grow. It is a daily practice that is absolutely doable and we are the only ones who can do it! The benefits of this work is that we are able to feel more calm more of the time as we connect with ourselves and others from a more present, authentic, and compassionate place.
