Practice Information

Hello! I'm Clement, bringing over 20 years of experience in the helping professions. My early work as an acupressure bodyworker, harm reduction advocate, and housing outreach support worker has profoundly shaped my approach as a therapist today. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor since 2012, I have worked in diverse settings, including youth programs, HIV support services, and outpatient substance use treatment. My approach to healing integrates mindfulness, compassion, and a holistic view of well-being.

As an Asian Canadian of Chinese descent, practice is guided by the principles of inclusion, cultural competence, and a strong commitment to social justice in mental health care. I provide both virtual and in-person counselling sessions, working with adults of all genders and identities on concerns such as:

  • Anxiety & Stress

  • Depression

  • Anger Issues

  • Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Self-Esteem

  • Survivors of Sexual Abuse

  • Relationship Issues

  • Grief & Loss

  • Chronic Illness

  • Life Transitions

  • Racism & Discrimination

  • Work-Life Balance

  • Performance-Based Stress & Anxiety

Therapeutic Approach

My counselling approach blends psychotherapy modalities with social and cultural frameworks, grounding my practice in ethics, collaboration, and trauma-informed care. I integrate talk therapy with somatic approaches, helping clients build self-awareness and resilience. Through Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Attachment Theory, I support clients in discovering and reclaiming the resources they need to navigate life’s challenges.

  • Somatic/Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP): A holistic mind-body approach that fosters a healthy connection between the mind and body, particularly effective for anxiety, depression, trauma, and grief.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS): Helps clients explore different parts of themselves, fostering self-compassion and emotional balance.

  • Narrative Therapy (NT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Existential Therapy: Provide structured, dialogue-based approaches to understanding thoughts, behaviours, and personal narratives.

Psychedelic-Assisted Therapy: Preparation, Integration, & Consultation

Psychedelic experiences, whether through clinical treatment or personal exploration, can be profound and transformative. However, proper preparation and integration are essential for making meaning of these experiences and applying insights to daily life.

I offer:

  • Preparation Sessions: Setting intentions, exploring expectations, and developing grounding techniques before a psychedelic journey.

  • Integration Therapy: Supporting clients in processing, understanding, and incorporating insights from psychedelic experiences into their healing journey.

  • Consultation for Professionals: Guidance on harm reduction, ethical considerations, and best practices in psychedelic-assisted therapy.

While I do not provide or facilitate psychedelic substances, I offer a safe, trauma-informed space to explore these experiences within an ethical and therapeutic framework.

Beyond Therapy

In addition to therapy, I have worked as an educator and consultant in harm reduction, trauma and violence-informed practice, and healthcare system reform. My recent work has focused on drug policy, decolonization in healthcare, and addressing the impacts of power, oppression, stigma, and structural violence on mental health.

Outside of my practice, you might find me exploring the North Shore Mountains, playing hockey, or indulging my true passion—fly fishing. Having lived in Australia, Japan, and Hong Kong, I am an avid traveler and “foodie,” always looking for ways to bring my fresh catch from stream to table to share with friends and family.
