Practice Information
No matter what brings you to therapy, it takes tremendous courage to make the decision. It can be a scary proposition to ask for help and to take the risk of being vulnerable. Together we will uncover habits of behaviors and thoughts that are no longer working for you, and reach new ways to maximize your quality of life.
I worked for government agencies for 14 years as a child and youth mental health counsellor and have been working with adults in private practice for the last 8 years. In the last five years I have been in counselling supervision roles with MCFD, Ann Davis Transition Society and the Chilliwack Youth Health Centre.
My specialty is helping clients explore their thinking by gently questioning deeply held assumptions. I see each person as full of possibilities, and I believe therapy should reflect that, every new client brings a new therapeutic process. I view counselling as a unique opportunity to better understand oneself and to explore long-standing beliefs with care and honesty. Judgment, whether from others or from ourselves, often keeps us stuck. I find that approaching therapy with curiosity creates space to notice patterns more clearly and to explore them without shame.
I enjoy seeing my clients become more fully aware of who they are and evolve beyond what they thought was possible. Some people use my practice for making immediate changes to their lifestyle while others address more disruptive and perpetual problems that require further attention.
