Hello! Trauma is a deeply distressing experience that overwhelms our ability to cope and can stem from various life events. When left unaddressed, it may lead to lasting effects on mental health such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety. Anxiety is one of the most common challenges today. While some stress can be motivating, persistent anxiety often disrupts well-being, carrying unresolved trauma into the present and affecting daily life. You're not alone. Through trauma-informed care using EMDR, we’ll work together to process your past, build resilience, and move toward a more grounded and empowered you!
Most of our thoughts and behaviors are processed in our subconscious mind, which is why, we find ourselves trapped in certain patterns despite our awareness around change. I offer a combination of EMDR with other approaches to support your healing and live a meaningful life.
EMDR therapy uses bilateral stimulation which activates the opposite sides of the brain. You can access traumatic memories in a way that can be reprocessed what you remember from the event. EMDR works by leading to a natural restoration and adaptive resolution, desensitizing (D of EMDR) unwanted feelings and linking (R of EMDR) to positive memories.
