Professional Experience

Virginia spent the first years of her career working as a clinical counsellor in an outdoor-based school for at-risk youth, where she supported teens aged 14-19 experiencing anxiety, depression, substance use issues and addiction, complex trauma and post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), autism spectrum disorders (ASD), and other challenges.

She went on to work as a Child and Family Counsellor at a community-based agency in Burnaby, where she continues to support children and youth age 5 to 19 and their families with a wide-range of complex and co-occurring mental health and well-being issues including unresolved trauma, PTSD, anxiety and depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), ADHD, ASD, grief and loss, relationship and family issues, and recovery from sexual assault.

Virginia’s previous 10+ year career in marketing and communications led to a special interest in career direction and personal fulfilment, managing work stress and healing from burnout. Since 2021 Virginia has been facilitating mental health workshops to organisations across the USA with the International Association of Administration Professionals.
