Hi,
First, I recognize how challenging starting the process of counselling may be. Whether it feels like the problem is too big, no one will understand or 'maybe it's not that big of a deal,' I want you to know that I appreciate you being here. I welcome you to this space as I aim to offer a safe and supportive environment to work through whatever difficulties bring you here.
I specialize in anxiety, feelings of being stuck and/or overwhelmed, career/goals, life transitions, relationships (of all kinds), trauma, sex & intimacy, grief and loss. In addition to counselling, I have over 15 years of teaching yoga, meditation and mindfulness. I have a holistic approach to counselling, wanting to understand how our external environments and internal experiences influence one another.
I work with individuals that may be (but are not exclusively)
- dealing with addictions and/or self-harm
- struggling with relationships (whether that be with themselves, loved ones, or coworkers)
- challenges with motivation and feelings of repeating patterns of behaviour
- dependency on food, exercise, alcohol, substances or sex to help regulate emotions and feelings
- feeling lost, alone or disconnected from the world around them
- unsure of who they are and how they fit into society or relationships
- overwhelmed, anxious, tangled within thoughts, or continually replaying events (past, present or possible future)
- lacking motivation, clarity or understanding
We all face struggles and obstacles, and it is essential to recognize that we do not have to face them alone. My practice is rooted in providing you with the space to explore, challenge and move through these difficult moments. I believe in collaboration, focusing on what you need and want to achieve. I work with individuals of all genders, sexualities and intersectionalities.
