Practice Information

As we grow, we collect memories and have experiences, some that create challenges for us and interrupt our identity and sense of self. I hold a deep appreciation for the courage it takes to embark on the counselling journey, and I am honoured to be able to support you on that journey. It can be especially hard to know when is the right time to reach out for support, and there are numerous things that can prevent us from doing so. I am committed to helping understand the barriers to your mental health journey and working with you, offering a holistic approach that will meet your individual needs.

I see the relationship between you and me as the foundation of our work together, as I recognize that you may be coming to me with your deepest vulnerabilities and greatest hopes for change. Ways I show up in the therapeutic space to build a relationship with you is by listening to your needs and creating an environment that feels supportive, I aim to work alongside you to cultivate safety and create space for you to explore challenging thoughts and feelings. You are the expert on yourself, and you know your needs best therefore, it is important to me that you feel in control of the sessions and the directions it’s going. I value transparency, including feedback about what is and is not working for you in our sessions so you feel comfortable telling me if something we are doing together isn’t working for you or if we’ve gone off track from what’s most important to you. I promise to be an active member who is there to embrace joy, heal through laughter, sit with you in hard feelings, and offer insights or alternative perspectives when you find yourself ‘stuck’.

Understanding the profound impact of identity on personal experiences, I acknowledge the intersectionality that shapes your healing journey. Remaining curious, I seek to understand the unique dynamics that influence your experiences. I firmly believe in acknowledging how systemic structures affect your access to healing and validating your lived experiences. Together, we navigate the complexities of your identity and environment, fostering a supportive space for growth and self-discovery.
