Practice Information
My professional experience since 2014 has been working with clients with post-traumatic stress disorder, addiction, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and domestic violence. I have also worked in family and couples therapy in cases of divorce, infidelity, communication problems and parenting difficulties.
My academic training consists of two Masters: One in systemic family and couple therapy, helping to connect the different parts of the family, its subsystems, and their interactions through specific modalities such as Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), positive psychology, structural and functional systemic family model. The second master's degree is in Neuropsychology from a psycho-bio-social perspective and its foundations in neuroscience following different therapeutical interventions with CBT and DBT approaches to address addiction, personality and mood disorders, and developmental disabilities.
I offer counseling in two languages: English and Spanish.
I worked for five years in Mexico as a forensic psychologist as part of the violent crimes department of the Mexican Government. Having a lot of experience with PTSD, Personality Disorders, anxiety, depression, domestic violence, sexual abuse, and addictions. In Canada I have worked as a Clinical Counsellor directly in Mental Health areas specialized in addictions, trauma, and severe mental disorders.
In my practice it is fundamental to create a safe and confidential space giving the opportunity to reframe, create, move through, feel, accept, and heal during the therapeutic process.
