Practice Information

Polly strives to create a warm, open, and trusting relationship with her clients, holding a safe space for them to journey through challenging experiences. She takes a person-centred approach, remaining open, sincere, and non-judgmental in her efforts to understand what is happening for the other. She seeks to find areas where individuals may feel a lack of authentic freedom, encouraging them as they work towards clarity and congruence.

Polly really enjoys being a therapist. She has always had a genuine interest in people and a curiosity about how they make sense of their experience, how they feel their emotions, and how all that manifests in the body. She cherishes being entrusted with people's sacred stories and bearing witness to what makes them love, what makes them hurt, what makes them strong, what gives them life! She feels alive when she is sitting with someone in the rawness of their emotion and witnessing something shift inside them. She loves the healing that comes from being present to one another, sometimes in silence, sometimes in discomfort, but oftentimes also in the joy of rediscovery.

She uses a variety of modalities, but mainly approaches issues through an existentialist lens combined with a somatically-oriented process, cognitive behavioural strategies, and mindfulness. She is also trained in the use of EMDR for processing trauma.

She is a registered clinical counsellor working with adults going through various life challenges such as stress and anxiety, depression, life transitions, grief and loss, relationship issues, emotional difficulties, immigration issues, and trauma.

She holds a Master's degree in Counselling Psychology and offers counselling services in English and Filipino (Tagalog).
