Practice Information
Negin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). She received her Ph.D. Degree in Child Psychology from the University of Tehran, followed by a few years of work as a Postdoctoral Fellow in Neuropsychological Assessments at the University of British Columbia, Vancouver. Negin started her psychology career at Atieh Neuroscience Clinic, Tehran, Iran, in 2012. Since then, she has supported numerous families facing challenges with their children. Along with her professional expertise, Negin brings empathy, compassion, and an easygoing communication style, making it easy for her to connect with her clients and their families. Negin offers child therapy, family therapy, and parent guidance to help families learn new ways to get along and thrive together.
In her work with children and families, she addresses behavioral problems, attentional challenges, anxiety and fearfulness, and social problems. She recognizes that learning differences can lead to problems at home, school, and making friends. In sessions, Negin constantly explores what is going well and understands the concerns and issues to offer strength-based, practical solutions for parents whenever possible. She understands that parents are the most influential people in a child’s life and that parenting is the most demanding job. Therefore, she works with the whole family to support them in improving their connection and communication, getting their individual needs met, and providing each other with emotional support.
Throughout her journey, Negin’s professional and academic commitments have helped her accumulate comprehensive expertise in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), parent-child interaction therapy (PCIT), play therapy, and with other proven approaches. For highly complex situations, Negin provides case management services and works with other health professionals, schools, and other organizations to help meet all children’s and family’s needs
