Practice Information
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (#21432) in Vancouver, BC specializing in eating disorders, relationships, and trauma. Prior to starting my private practice, I worked for the Looking Glass Foundation as a Clinical Counsellor, where I worked extensively in this area. I am deeply passionate about therapeutic work, having experienced my own healing in therapy through overcoming an eating disorder. This experience I had in working with a therapist is something I am truly grateful for and showed me that when we take the courage to look within ourselves, understand what is hindering us, and work with someone else to overcome our adversities, healing is possible. Having had this opportunity, I wish to help others find peace and passion in their lives that I have been so fortunate to find.
In my practice, I strive to create a space that honours the uniqueness and individuality of each of my client's experience with warmth and compassion.
To me, each client is the expert in their experience and I value a collaborative approach in which each client is provided the freedom and non-judgmental space to explore their goals and how they wish to accomplish them freely and openly. My practice is grounded in internal family systems therapy as I believe healing comes from the premise that there is nothing wrong with any of us. Rather, we are all made of various parts that seek to protect and run our lives yet, may be ill equipped with the skills to do so. As frustrating as various parts can be, they are all valuable and worthy and when we can find acceptance and appreciation for our parts, we can lead our lives with more connection and authenticity to our Self. I also believe in drawing upon specific therapeutic strategies from existential, emotion focused, cognitive and dialectical, as well as feminist and narrative approaches to meet each client where they are at. I am deeply moved by the human experience and my goal in working with each client is that you feel deeply seen, heard, and safe to tell your story in a supportive and non-judgmental space. I wish you the courage to take this step for yourself and look forward to working with you.
