Practice Information

Dr. Michael Mandrusiak is a Registered Psychologist (CPBC #1803) and holds a Doctor of Psychology degree. 

As a psychologist in B.C. since 2008, Michael has had extensive clinical experience working with adolescent and adult clients. Areas of practice include stress managementanxiety related disorders (social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias), depressive disordersobsessions and compulsions, traumagrief and loss, pain managementrelationshipsinterpersonal conflict resolution, and career challenges. He is also does work in the areas of self-growth, personal and organizational well-being and institutional leadership and has completed a Masters Certificate in Organizational Development and Change Management through York University's Schulich School of Business.   

In his clinical practice, Michael’s first goal is to create a safe, comfortable space and to provide a trustworthy and supportive presence to his clients. He cultivates a therapeutic experience that builds clients’ confidence and supports them in achieving their goals.

Michael skillfully draws from a range of effective, evidence-based treatment modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Clinical Hypnosis, and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). 

In addition to his clinical work, Michael has held past roles as Faculty and Director of Clinical Training for masters and doctoral programs in psychology. He also served as Clinical Director at a well-established counselling practice and, more recently, held a position as a managing director for Counselling, Student Health and Accessibility Services at the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT).
