Practice Information
I care deeply about each person that I have the honour to work with. My work is rooted in the belief that we are all capable of healing and finding more comfort and safety in our everyday life and in our bodies.
In my experience, we can only relax and learn when we feel safe - and safety is established when we believe that we will be seen and understood without judgment. As your therapist, I will stay with you as you tell your story and support you in developing skills to feel safe and regulated.
I work with people who have experienced:
-
Sexual violence
-
Violence in relationship
-
Childhood abuse
-
Emotional neglect
-
PTSD and Complex PTSD
-
Grief and loss
-
Chronic illness, disease or a terminal diagnosis
-
Birth trauma
-
Self-injury, eating disorders and substance use
-
Anxiety, hypervigilence and compulsive behaviours
-
Depression, dissociation and numbness
I work from an attachment-based, relational perspective, which means we will explore what you know about relationships and use the connection between us in therapy to support the development of healthy new patterns. We might also get curious about what is happening in your body and choose to integrate some somatic strategies for regulation and processing. I am consistently engaged in learning and supervision in order to ensure that my practice is safe, skillful and evidence-based. I have earned my Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology and bring an additional 10+ years of experience working in the non-profit sector supporting folks who have experienced trauma or abuse.
In order for our work together to be successful, it is essential that you feel safe and comfortable. I am happy to offer a free, 15-minute phone consultation so that we can determine if we will be a good fit. Once we have completed a phone consultation, I'm happy to offer access to my online booking system for appointment scheduling.
