Practice Information
My approach to counselling is to join with people with compassion, empathy and without judgment where together we can make sense of life's many challenges. My hope is to facilitate a sense of freedom from what keeps people stuck in psychological pain and distress and then to work together to develop the mental skills and abilities needed to move toward a life of meaning, purpose and whole-hearted living. I believe we all have the resources within us to shift perspectives, to heal emotionally and to flourish in our own unique ways - counselling simply allows people the time and space to re-discover theses resources and to build on these internal strengths.
I make use of a variety of strategies and modalities, based on an individual's needs, strengths and preferences.
I enjoy working with a wide age demographic from teens to older adults .
I also enjoy working with couples and parents , where I utilize both my professional training as well as decades of marital and parenting experience in all stages of life.
I offer complimentary 20 minute consultations, to see if we might work well together .
A major focus of my ongoing training is in trauma recovery in which I have taken several courses in Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory and its practices as well as grief counselling.
