Practice Information

Lindsay is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology. She is the Owner and Director of ThriveLife Counselling & Wellness, as well as full time Clinical Counsellor working with individuals who are interested in seeking support for trauma-related issues and affiliated concerns including PTSD, complex trauma and dissociative disorders. Lindsay also offers services related to life transitions, anxiety, depression, abuse, vicarious trauma/compassion fatigue, and stress management, as well as other pervasive problems that interrupt the enjoyment of life

When working with clients, Lindsay utilizes an integrative approach, meaning that she integrates various therapeutic theories and practices to meet the unique needs of each individual. While Lindsay strives to meet unique and changing needs, her counselling style is largely shaped by attachment and systems theories. This means that she seeks to understand her clients within their greater context in order to help gain insight into the specific problems that present in therapy. Lindsay's beliefs about counselling center around a collaborative partnership between herself and her clients. While she has certain training and experience, she truly believes that each person is their own “best expert” - Lindsay's hope is to help clients access their own vast wisdom and work to find solutions to life’s challenges.

Lindsay has specialized training addressing trauma issues with individuals and couples. Many people struggle to identify their own experiences as traumatic, however the term trauma is used broadly to identify any experience that provoked a sense of fear, helplessness or horror. This may include experiencing an event first hand, or being a witness to an event that led to these feelings. Whatever the case, many of us struggle to overcome long term consequences of events that are traumatic in nature, and counselling can help to resolve feelings of hypersensitivity, feeling on guard, feeling a desire to avoid certain people or situations, experiences of flashbacks or nightmares, and other related concerns.

Lindsay's services are often covered by extended medical programs and ICBC claims, in addition, Lindsay is a contracted provider with the Crime Victim Assistance Program in BC, as well as part of the WorkSafeBC provider network. Lindsay also offers clinical supervision, professional trainings and pubic speaking engagements.

In addition to her clinical work, Lindsay also offers online resources created for First Responders & Front Line Workers to support assessment and intervention in burnout.
