Practice Information
Hi, my name is Joanne. I look forward to meeting you, listening to your story and supporting you towards your goals. I am a Master’s level Registered Social Worker with 15 years of counselling experience in the mental health field. Whether you have complex mental health and substance use issues or are struggling with mild depression and anxiety/life transition issues, I am here to listen and help you move forward towards change. In my practice I am strengths-based and trauma-informed, offering individuals and couples a safe, supportive, inclusive and culturally sensitive space. I have extensive experience in working in:
- Substance Use/Addiction and Concurrent Mental Health issues
- Family Issues
- Anxiety, Depression and Self-Esteem
- Psychosis and Bi-Polar Disorder
- Chronic Illnesses/MAID
- Grief and Loss
- Life and Career Transitions
- Fertility Issues and Adoption
I bring an authentic, encouraging and caring approach to my work. I am trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I practice in a holistic, integrative way, customized to help you meet your goals and find solutions.
Meeting with a counsellor for the first time can be scary. I believe that all people deserve dignity, choice, and autonomy and see you as the expert on your own life. My role is to offer you skills to take control of your health. I will work with you to develop healing, self-compassion, self-worth and empowerment.
I offer virtual counselling through telehealth/Jane App. In Person Appointments also available on request - email me to book.
