Overwhelmed? Stuck? Seeking more contentment, purpose and direction? I am here to join you as a nonjudgmental guide. From a place of understanding your struggles, we can then address the anxiety holding you back. Build skills and tools to thrive! Anxiety is a natural part of life but can become a problem if and when it prevents us from engaging in life according to our passions and interests. My priority is to assist clients build their own tool kit for dealing with life's stressors. I offer a direct and action-oriented approach utilizing primarily, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. My goal is always to capture a client’s inner wisdom and strength, even when they don’t realize they possess these qualities. I offer in person, virtual or telephone sessions.
I hold a Master’s degree in Educational Psychology (counselling) from the University of Victoria, as well as undergraduate degrees in Women’s Studies and Child and Youth Care. I have also completed extensive training in a variety of therapy modalities as listed below. My experience includes providing counselling in schools, community based settings and mental health organizations.
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) is a form of psychotherapy based on the idea that the way we think and feel affects the way we behave.
I have had experience and success treating Anxiety disorders (Social, Generalized, Panic) as well as OCD. I provide ADHD support and coaching and I am also trained in treating Body Focused Repetitive Behaviors (a cluster of habitual behaviors that include hair pulling, skin picking, nail biting, nose picking, and lip or cheek biting). I see youth as well as adults of all ages including seniors.
