Practice Information

Hello, and thanks for reading about me and my work! I love being a therapist because I get to do something really important: support people on their journey toward leading a happier, more satisfying and peaceful life. People heal in all kinds of ways and I honor that by offering different approaches and perspectives as my client’s need them. I work from a perspective of flexibility and attunement in each session, so every session looks a little different (no cookie cutter therapy here!).

My approach:

I utilize techniques primarily from:

  • Somatic Experiencing and other somatic approaches I have trained in,
  • Internal Family Systems (parts work),
  • Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy,
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy

I am a life-long learner so my clients often experience new approaches and “in the moment” inspirations during our sessions.

The Setting:

I’m passionate about my work as a healer and I know that what works for one person may not work for another.  I have a lot of options for comfort and safety in my office space. I always have a mat with yoga blankets, pillows and bolsters ready in case my clients need more support, want to try a different position or are called to move around during a session! I also have a lovely setting near the ocean, so being outside is always a possibility too…weather permitting. And, of course, I also have a more traditional sitting area, with comfortable furniture and more blankets and pillows…as well as tea. Upon request, I also have furry therapy assistants - a dog and a cat - each of whom can be present during a session.  I have designed my space with comfort and healing in mind!

My Areas of Specialty:

  • Anxiety and Panic Disorders
  • Strategies for thriving with ADHD
  • Chronic Pain
  • Trauma
  • Climate Anxiety

On a personal note:

I am a mom of three 20-something children who are making their way in the world, all in different ways. My husband and I love to garden and spend time in nature. I am very passionate about Climate initiatives to preserve this beautiful home planet we live on. I grew up on the prairies, moved to San Francisco for a long time, and now have recently moved to Vancouver Island (2023). I have a deep love and appreciate for this place I am so fortunate to call home.
