Practice Information

I have been in the helping profession for over 30 years and have experience working in a variety of therapeutic and clinical settings. I have been in private practice for 29 of those 30+ years. Finding the right counsellor can sometimes be a challenging undertaking and I encourage those in need of support to shop around, ask questions ( counsellor trainings, certifications, levels of experience ) and finally to trust their 'gut'.

In my life and in my work, I make every effort to adhere to the principles of non-violence and reverence for life, organicity, unity and mindfulness. It is my hope to bring a sense of openness, clarity and compassion to every session that we have, whether we meet only once, or form a long-lasting therapeutic alliance. Much of my work has been and continues to be with trauma, developmental needs, grief and loss, life transitions and personal growth and awareness.

I completed my M.Ed in Counselling Psychology at the University of Victoria. (2005), my B.F.A at Emily Carr University, (1995), a diploma in Fine Art @ Emily Carr College of Art & Design (1987 ) and a diploma in art therapy ( 1995). I completed extensive training in Trauma Counselling (Justice Institute of BC.,1997), both Level I and II (EMDRIA approved)  EMDR training (1999),  Level I (Trauma) in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (2008) and Level II training (Developmental, 2010) with the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute of Boulder, Colorado, studying with both Pat Ogden and Kekuni Minton. I am Certified in Stephen Porges' Safe and Sound Protocol and continue to pursue further education in IFS. ( Internal Family Systems ). I have volunteered as an SP assistant on a Level II training with Janina Fisher and Rochelle Sharpe in Seattle and on a Level II training in Vancouver with Kekuni Minton and Rochelle Sharpe.  I am certified with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and am a member in good standing. ( #7242 )

I have also worked as an EAP counsellor with Health Canada, Family Services of Greater Vancouver ( IATSE ), Arete, and Ceridian Lifeworks and am registered with both the Crime Victim Assistance and the Residential Historical Abuse Programs. I see pre and post mission clients with MSF ( Doctors Without Borders ). I offer clinical supervision to both graduate students and other clinicians working in trauma.

Please note that I work via telehealth every second week only.

I see clients in Vancouver every second Thursday afternoon.
