Practice Information

Janet completed her masters degree in Creative Arts Therapies from Concordia University in 2004. Since then, she has lived and worked on the traditional territory of the Haida Nation as a child and youth counsellor, an individual and couples therapist, as well as a therapeutic retreat facilitator. A certified Canadian counsellor (CCC) Janet uses a collection of approaches dependent on your goals and needs. Trauma informed and culturally safe, Janet's work embodies the Haida Ways of Being - yahguudang (respect), ad kyanang kunGasda (to ask first), listening, Gina ‘waadluxan gud ad kwaagiid (interconnectedness), Giid tll'juus (the world is as sharp as the edge of a knife, balance), responsibility and reciprocity, accountability and tll yahda (make things right/justice).

Janet has experience working with a range of clientelle with an even wider range of concerns and goals. Her person-centred approach ensures that you are always the centre of your healing journey.

Janet provides clinical supervision for graduate students and other clinical counsellors looking to add a further level of personal accountability to their practice.

Janet also works with other Haida and allied wellness workers to deliver wellness retreat programming through Ts'uu Nee - Ts'uu Naay Red Cedar (wood) House.
