Practice Information
What brings you here?
Do you find yourself disconnecting more and more every day - from work, from people around you, from your passions and values, and even from your own body? Some social media mental health influencers call this a "functional freeze" - the state where you do all, or most, of the things that are expected of you, but have nothing left for yourself at the end of the day. If this is you, I'd like to help.
Main Areas of focus.
I work extensively with workplace trauma, workplace burnout, graduate and professional school burnout, compassion fatigue, stress, disordered eating, body image concerns, and feelings of shame and guilt. I also work with moral injury: a type of workplace traumatic event that can result from violating our own moral and ethical principles in course of our work (this experience is especially common for veterans, healthcare workers, educators, and other front-line workers).
How I work.
I approach our work together in a transparent and collaborative manner. I am a bit of a science nerd, and I practice in an evidence-based manner (i.e. i only use approaches supported by a significant amount of scientific research). At the same time, I don't keep any "trade secrets" from you. We can talk about how approaches work, and how they may need to be modified to be of use to you.
