Practice Information
Hi! I'm Dana. I'm a counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I'm also a human and a recovering people pleaser. Life is messy and stuff gets hard. You're slogging through the mess too, my friend? I get it. No judgment here.
While it may seem on the surface that you have it all together, the truth is you find yourself stuck in unhelpful patterns, struggling to bounce back from breaks up or disappointments or find your life dominated by jealous, anxious or hopeless thoughts. You might feel lost, rejected or even broken. Whatever is pulling you down, I want you to know, life doesn't have to be so hard.
For the past 14 years, I have supported individuals to reduce anxiety and other painful emotions, heal emotional wounds, and shift unhelpful thoughts and behaviours that get in the way of living a full and meaningful life. My area of focus, in addition to depression and anxiety, is low self-esteem, body image, childhood trauma and PTSD.
I place a very high value on maintaining a supportive, collaborative environment; but you lead the way. Your story, your struggle, is unique to you. Together, we will find an approach that works best, so you can start making improvements to your life right away.
I want you to feel comfortable and confident when you choose me as your therapist. If you have questions, or would like to learn more about me, please visit my website or send me an email to schedule a complementary 15-minute consultation: dmillarcounselling@gmail.com.
