Practice Information
Through talk therapy, skills practice, and engaging activities in session, I support clients who are wanting to explore change in their lives and are seeking opportunities for personal growth. When working with together, you can expect to find an engaged therapist who is committed to offering support in ways that resonate for you. I offer in person counselling appointments in Victoria and online therapy sessions for clients across British Columbia, providing individual counselling to youth (13+) and adults of all ages.
I enjoy working with clients to improve self-esteem and body image, manage stress and heal from burnout, reduce anxiety and/or panic experiences, develop and/or refine healthy communication skills, explore personal growth and wellbeing, and address symptoms of depression. I have extensive experience supporting clients experiencing sleep difficulties and insomnia, and am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I). I also offer support with life transitions, including job changes and retirement, and grief and loss.
I have a special interest in sex therapy, supporting clients to improve sexual self-esteem, resolve sexual health concerns, and increase intimacy and pleasure. Rooted in my awareness of the limits of my training and experience in these specialized topics, I do not provide sex therapy specific to sexual trauma or gender identity exploration.
In my sessions with youth, I offer support with procrastination, school adjustment, sleep difficulties, future planning, peer and/or family connections, self-esteem and perfectionism, anxiety, and depression.
My approach is client-centered and strength-based, providing a comfortable, non-judgmental space for growth and healing. I tailor each session to meet the unique needs of my clients, using evidence-based therapies. Based on the presenting challenges, strengths and desired outcomes of each of my clients, I draw from a variety of counselling modalities to provide a client-centered approach. The primary counselling approaches that I use are cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), mindfulness practices, person centred therapy and Bowen Family Systems Theory.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) and have a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University.
