Barb draws on a range of effective long and short-term therapies and her counselling work with you will offer practical tools for healing. Sometimes people are seeking a specific technique for their therapeutic journey and other times people need a safe space to explore the challenges they are facing in life. Barb can work with you to identify your needs and build upon your journey with you.
Barb brings compassion, support and a non-judgmental approach to her counselling practice. There are times where outside support and an encouraging environment allow clients to connect with their inner potential, creating transformation and change in their lives. Barb firmly believes that people have the ability to change and that people are able to be active and creative during the change process. She uses an individual’s strengths to help them navigate transitions in an effort towards growth. Respect and encouragement are the foundations of her counselling relationships.
Barb has been involved in the community in a variety of ways over the years. For five years she facilitated a cancer support group with the Friends for Life Foundation. She also volunteered time with Pacific Riding for Developing Abilities, working with children and teenagers who have physical, emotional and cognitive disabilities. She was also involved with Kindred Farm, supporting children who have witnessed violence and abuse.
