Tiffany Brown, MA, CCC is honoured to work with folks who've experienced or have been affected by abuse from a partner, other forms of gender-based violence including sexual assault, or any form of interpersonal violence in their lifetime. Tiffany provides warm, compassionate client-centered counselling to support clients as they take steps towards healing, empowerment, and positive change in their lives.

Counselling Services

Tiffany supports her clients with healing, re-discovering, and reclaiming their lives after experiences of abuse and violence.

Tiffany works with folks who’ve experienced:

-any form of abuse from a recent or past partner (psychological, emotional, physical, sexual, financial)

-any other form of gender-based violence such as sexual assault

-exposure to abuse in adulthood, youth, or childhood

-a loved one who has experienced abuse from a partner

-interpersonal trauma connected with colonial violence including residential schools, Sixties Scoop, and MMIWG

-experiences of or exposure to interpersonal violence in their lifetime that impacts relationship with oneself, with loved ones, and well-being

-challenges with low self-esteem, low self-worth, anxiety, negative body image influenced or affected by any form of violence or abuse

 

Counselling Approach:

Tiffany is committed to providing a safe, warm, compassionate healing space for her clients as they navigate healing after abuse and violence. Tiffany uses a blend of therapeutic modalities to reflect her clients' needs, experiences, and preferences. Some of her approaches include: feminist, narrative, strengths-based, mindfulness, self-compassion, somatic, EMDR, CBT, and response-based practice.

 


 

Training and Experience

Tiffany has a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the City University of Seattle and a Bachelors Degree in Social Work from the University of Victoria.

Tiffany is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association.

Tiffany has completed the Breakout Professional Training for Professionals working with women experiencing abuse.

Tiffany has completed the When Love Hurts Certification training.

Tiffany has completed EMDR basic training and additional EMDR training for women's experiences of abuse.

Tiffany has provided counselling with women's organizations that serve women impacted by gender-based violence.

Tiffany has worked with women who've experienced and have been impacted by gender-based violence since moving from social work to counselling in 2012.

Tiffany’s roots in anti-violence began at 18 when she volunteered with a women’s drop-in center. Tiffany’s passion for anti-violence and supporting healing, connection, and empowerment continued to grow as she completed her Bachelor of Social Work followed by her Master’s in Counselling Psychology. Today, Tiffany combines her experience and continued passion to come together to prevent, heal, and help end violence.

Flexible Options

Multiple counselling options are available to help meet clients' diverse needs. Sessions are available in-person in Burnaby, secure video chat, and by phone.
