Practice Information

Welcome! I'm so glad you're taking the first steps toward finding a counsellor for yourself or a loved one. I see individual clients of all ages in person in Victoria, BC, or online anywhere in BC. Take a look at my website for more information and below I've summarized my approaches with children and teenagers, undergraduate and graduate students, and adults. Let's set up a free 15 minutes video or phone consultation to see if I'm a good fit for you!

Children/Teenagers

I work as a therapist with children and teenagers ages 9 - 18 who have a wide variety of concerns and are ready to make a change.

Common concerns with this age group are academics, stress, anxiety, depression, neurodiversity, a recent diagnosis, ADHD, autism (ASD), making friends, balancing after school activities, and many more!

Along with my clients, we work together in a collaborative and open environment to understand current issues and identify strategies to help address those concerns.

My experience as a teacher and school counsellor provide me with a unique lens of the school environment and this knowledge is invaluable in helping my clients and their families navigate any challenges occurring at school.

I prioritize relationship-building and create a safe, fun environment in my office to hold space for clients, understand their worlds, provide psycho-education as needed to increase mental health literacy, and communicate with school staff as needed.

Undergraduate and Graduate Students

Combining my PhD in Educational Psychology with my experience and MA in Counselling provides me with a unique set of skills to support graduate students as a therapist.

Undergraduate and graduate students are navigating challenges both in and outside of academics and learning and I know from my own lived experience that working with a therapist who understands this unique context is crucial!

Topics discussed in sessions can include mental health, anxiety, depression, motivation, thesis and dissertation writing, careers, supervisor issues, neurodivergence, disability, and health issues - or any other areas affecting you.

I also offer academic strategy sessions for postsecondary students.

Adults

I work as a therapist with adult clients who are experiencing stress, feeling anxious, or dealing with life problems that seem overwhelming. We will work together collaboratively and at your pace to understand your biggest priority, what change you would like to see, and how to make progress toward that change.

With my adult clients, I use solution-focused and cognitive-behavioural approaches that are suitable for short-term counselling (e.g., 5-10 sessions) and that help you identify and understand what may be contributing to your stress and/or anxiety.
