Practice Information

Hello, I’m Rayen, a Secwépemc First Nations woman with mixed European ancestry. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Registered Social Worker with over two decades of experience in the social service sector.

My practice is rooted in the belief that every person’s journey is unique, and I strive to create a safe, inclusive, and respectful space where clients feel valued and understood. I work with individuals and couples, focusing on strengthening relationships, developing healthy boundaries, navigating personal challenges, and fostering emotional resilience. My approach is holistic, considering the mental, emotional, and physical aspects of well-being, and is grounded in evidence-based and person-centred therapeutic modalities.

Therapeutic Approach

I integrate a range of approaches tailored to each client’s needs, including:

  • Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Helping clients regulate emotions, tolerate distress, and develop mindfulness-based coping strategies, particularly useful for anxiety, ADHD, and emotional dysregulation.
  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Supporting clients in reframing negative thought patterns and managing symptoms of anxiety, depression, and OCD.
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Encouraging self-acceptance and values-based living, helping clients move through life’s challenges with purpose.
  • Narrative Therapy: Exploring and re-authoring personal stories to empower change and self-understanding.
  • Mindfulness-Based Therapy: Cultivating present-moment awareness to reduce stress and enhance emotional regulation.
  • Polyvagal Therapy: Helping clients understand and regulate their nervous system responses to foster safety and emotional balance.

I also specialize in supporting individuals with ADHD, offering strategies to improve focus, emotional regulation, organization, and executive functioning. Together, we work to create practical tools that fit your unique way of thinking and processing the world.
