Hello, :) and Wecome :) I am the Clinical Director of Conscious Mind Counselling & Consulting. I have a Masters degree in Clinical Counselling from Adler University and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC #14287). Are you feeling stuck, lost, conflicted about your life and the path that you are? You've come to the right place, I am hear to help you gain more insight about yourself and your life and support you to a better quality of life.. I have a passion for empowering clients to uncover their best selves. This passion has led to career opportunities that have allowed me to walk alongside children, youth, men, and women struggling with a variety of life challenges and struggles. I believe that counselling should serve as a safe space that allows us to explore and discover our path to healing and transformation. I understand the vulnerability that clients bring to the therapy room and work to provide clients with a non-judgmental and accepting environment.
If you are struggling with stress, relationship or work challenges, anxiety and/or depression, I provide a safe, warm, compassionate, and empathetic space for you to move through many of these struggles, along with practical tools to begin to make shifts and changes in your life. I believe in people and know there is hope for everyone when they feel heard, understood and accepted. My journey to becoming a therapist started in 2011 where I received a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Simon Fraser University. My experience started out as working as a Behavioural Interventionist and Educational Assistant with children and adolescents with special needs. Working for non-profit organizations in the community as an Addictions Counsellor and a Family Counsellor has also provided me with extensive knowledge and training.
I believe that you are so much more than your struggles and have the capacity to heal and thrive. Many of the problems you face today probably started out as ways to survive and cope with life difficulties. Therapy helps you develop compassion toward yourself and make positive changes from a place of self-love and self-acceptance.
The therapy approaches and modalities I use are strength-based, trauma-informed, person-centered, attachment-based, solution-focused therapy (SFT), cognitive-behavour therpay (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT), mindfulness based approaches, and emotion focused therapy (EFT). I recognize that people comes from diverse and unique lives and I tailor my treatment and therapy approach to fit their unique needs. It would be a true honour to walk alongside you through your journey of discovery and growth.
