Practice Information
It's easy to find ourselves disconnected, overwhelmed, irritable and struggling to make sense of ourselves, our relationships, and the things that matter most to us. When life becomes hard and fast, we too quickly lose connection; first with ourselves and then with those we love.
My name is Kristin Sickavish and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor and dedicated to the work of supporting my clients in their relationships, and connecting deeper with themselves, and their values and desires. I provide a nonjudgmental space for you to work through your toughest relationship questions, identify and help you break out of behavioural patterns that are keeping you stuck and out of alignment, and navigate conflict in a way that creates deeper connection and understanding. I have experience supporting clients with:
- anxiety and depression
- parenting challenges at all stages of your parenting journey
- making sense of emotions and what they can teach us rather than allowing them to alter our path
- moving into alignment with respect to what you value most and the ways you show up in the world and for those you love
- communicating honestly from a place of internal knowing instead of people pleasing or self-protecting
- neuro diversity and all the pressure points that come with that both from the perspective of the person themselves and their families
I take a family systems approach to my work where I seek to understand the larger systems and emotional units that impact so much of who we are, how we see the world, and all the ways in which we once learned how to cope, and determining for ourselves the impact that those coping strategies have on ourselves and our relationships. I have a compassionate and pragmatic approach to counselling where I seek to understand your thoughts, emotions and motivations, and help you move through the world and engage in behaviour connected to those deeper places, even when it's hard. The more out of alignment we are, the more we struggle and avoid; taking small steps in the service of things that matter to us can be the road to healing. But, it's at this place that we often need support and help knowing what steps to take.
