Practice Information
In our sessions, we can curiously explore the past experiences that have shaped your beliefs about who you are and how you view the world around you today. Therapy with me will be an environment of non-judgement and encouragement for fostering meaningful conversations to help you unearth underlying thoughts and emotions that impact your well-being. Through guided self-exploration, we will build confidence and self-compassion to honour your present self while developing strategies to navigate upcoming challenges.
Many clients who work with me are youth or young adults who are self- or formally-diagnosed ADHD and/or autistic. I have a particular passion for supporting folks navigating the intersection of neurodivergence and anxiety, interpersonal relationships, school or early career, and/or relationships with food, body, and self-image. Therapy with me can be a safe space to be curious, strengthen self-insight, identify your existing strengths, and collaboratively develop strategies to support thriving.
As a first-generation immigrant settler, I hold a deep commitment to offering a compassionate space for clients to gently challenge stigma and re-learn assumptions around neurodiversity and mental health, especially within Asian communities. I have been practicing as a mental health social worker for the past six years, supporting a variety of populations ranging from children to seniors, with a vested interest in working with teens and young adults. I have practiced counselling/therapy for the past three years and have completed training in therapeutic treatment of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and psychosis.
My practice reflects the belief that everyone comes with their own intersecting identities, unique story, and personal needs that may be best supported through a personalized and integrative therapy style, tailored to meet your desired therapy outcomes. I primarily engage in techniques informed by cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), with incorporation of dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT), acceptance-commitment therapy (ACT), and exposure and response prevention (ERP) for anxiety; alongside trauma informed and anti-oppressive practice approaches.
I have a Master of Social Work from the University of British Columbia and a Bachelor of Social Work from Grant MacEwan University.
I have current availability to take on new clients and look forward to connecting with you soon!
